Dominic Haakon Myrtvedt Purcell took birth in England. His father was of Norwegian ancestry and his mother was Irish. At two, he and his family moved from England to Australia. He has four siblings and he’s the eldest one. Dominic attended Blaxland High School. After quitting the high school, he became a landscape gardener. He was soon tired of the profession and left it. While watching the war movie Platoon, he developed an interest in acting and decided to become an actor. He studied at The Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) and later enrolled at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts where he met his future wife Rebecca and studied with Hugh Jackman. He graduated in 1996 and in 1997, Dominic scored a role in the TV series “Raw FM”. After that, he played a role in Mission: Impossible II (2000). In 2000, he won a green card lottery and moved to United States. He lived in Los Angeles for a few years. At USA, he portrayed the title character in John Doe in 2002. After getting the title role in John Doe, he finally moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with his wife Rebecca.). Dominic’s most recent role was as Lincoln Burrows on Prison Break who is accused of murdering vice president’s brother and is scheduled to be executed.
He has four children Joseph, Audrey, and twins Lily and Augustus with Rebecca. They separated on October 21, 2007. In 2008, he appeared on the talk show ‘Tubridy Tonight’.

On ‘Prison Break’, Dominic Purcell appeared as Lincoln Burrows. In the beginning of the series, we saw him accused of murdering Vice president’s brother. Later, he assisted Michael and James Whistler to break out of Sona. In the season 4, we saw his as a member of ‘A-Team’ and trying to bring down The Company.
